Richard Rodgers Theatre Rules
For all attendees, the following rules have been put in place to ensure a safe environment and a smooth running at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Please take note before arrival. The Richard Rodgers Theatre has a few basic rules that you’re asked to follow. These are subject to alteration at any time. If you’re uncertain about any specific rule or behavior, check directly with the theatre management.
- No smoking is allowed anywhere in the Richard Rodgers Theatre, either tobacco products or substitutes such as e-cigarettes.
- Security personnel and theatre staff patrol the venue during all performances. Please comply with their instructions during any operational or emergency procedures.
- There is no specific dress code, but you’re asked to dress appropriately for the occasion.
Richard Rodgers Theatre Prohibited Items
You’re not allowed to bring any of the following items into the Richard Rodgers Theatre:
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal substances
- Mace or pepper spray
- Fireworks
- Outside food or beverages
- Professional cameras with detachable lenses
- Video recording equipment
- Laser pointers or flashlights
- Noise making devices
- Animals, except service animals
Late Seating Policy
If you arrive late during a show or concert, you will generally be seated in the most undisrupted place for the first fifteen minutes. If within your ticket selection, you have chosen to sit in the Front Orchestra area, you will be asked to stay in the auditorium temporarily so that the show can begin. After the right amount of time, you will be escorted directly to your permanent seats by an usher.
Permitted Items
You may bring some items inside the theatre, as long as you keep to the general rules.
bag policy
You’re allowed to bring personal bags into the theatre, provided they’ll fit comfortably at or under your seat.
You will have to pass your bags through a security screening area for inspection. The Richard Rodgers Theatre staff have the right to refuse entry to anyone carrying dangerous or illegal items, or to confiscate those items and not return them.
No shopping bags, luggage or other large packages will be allowed inside. Please note that there’s no bag check facility here, so you should leave all large bags at home.
food & drink policy
You may bring special food and drink items into the theatre ONLY if these are required for a medical condition. You may also bring into the auditorium beverages purchased from the Richard Rodgers Theatre bars, provided they’re in containers with secure tops (e.g. bottled water). You can buy alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and snacks at the theatre’s three bars.
animal policy
Service animals are permitted in the theatre for ADA assistance.
parking policy
There is no on-site parking at this venue, so you must park at a public garage nearby.

camera policy
Small personal cameras, including cell phones, may be permitted, at the discretion of the management. You must keep them off or muted, and not make any recordings or use flash.
children policy
Children of five (5) years and older are permitted to attend the theatre, but they must have a valid ticket. Please be considerate of your neighbors and ensure that your children behave responsibly.
Please abide by these Rules and be kind to your fellow theatre-goers. The Richard Rodgers Theatre management reserves the right to deny you admission or eject you from the theatre if you violate their policies.
