Hamilton at Richard Rodgers Theatre

Making its first appearance in in 2015 and running for almost 10 years now, Hamilton shook Broadway by storm bringing a fresh approach. From Ron Chernow’s biographical book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and journey to power as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. A unique story that is both founded in truth and political, Hamilton has been hailed as fearless in its storytelling and has left its mark on politics, culture, and education.

Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film. He went on to create the music and lyrics for his former Broadway play called "In the Heights", another Tony award-winning production. Miranda is also the creator of music and lyrics in many high profile musical movies such as Moana. This hit Broadway musical, featuring a diverse cast, is set to a score that mixes new genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B and more, which has made Hamilton all the more innovative and engaging by showcasing these music genres to Broadway. Showtunes such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the production since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton came from top rap and hip hop rappers of America, finding a way to marry the two different genres together, something that was unheard of. The music of Hamilton are praised hugely by New York critics alike, as compared to other Broadway shows that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and fun than many.

Hamilton has since gone on to achieve a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved widespread success as it continues its global tour, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is coming to you this fall in Richard Rodgers Theatre, the greatest theater for the arts in New York, where former shows have been received incredibly well. Tickets for the Saturday 19th October 2024 showing are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a short time in Richard Rodgers Theatre during October.
