Hamilton at Richard Rodgers Theatre

Debuting in 2015 and running for almost a decade, Hamilton shook Broadway by storm bringing a innovative approach. From Ron Chernow’s book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and rise to one of the Founding Fathers of the USA. A unique story that is both founded in truth and political, Hamilton is still to this day hailed as fearless in its storytelling and has left its mark on politics, culture, and education.

It was created by American composer and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his achievements in movies, Broadway and more. He went on to compose the music and lyrics for his former Broadway play called "In the Heights", another Tony award-winning showcase. Miranda is also the creator of music and lyrics in many high profile musical films such as Moana. This hit musical, featuring a mixed cast, has showtunes in a style that blends new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more innovative and engaging by showcasing these music genres to the Broadway stage. Broadway hits such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the musical since its Broadway debut. Lin-Manuel Miranda has said that his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip hop rappers of USA, finding a way to marry the two different genres together, something that was unheard of! The music of Hamilton is praised hugely by New York critics alike, as compared to the other Broadway shows produced today, Hamilton proves to be more fast-paced and fun than others.

Hamilton has garnered a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Olivier Awards, Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special mention from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved global acclaim as it continues its global tour, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is coming to you this fall in Richard Rodgers Theatre, the best theater for the arts in New York, where previous musicals have proved to be successful. Tickets for the Friday 6th September 2024 show are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a short time in Richard Rodgers Theatre during September.
