By re-telling this story, Hamilton has gone on to win 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy Award, and a 2016 Pulitzer Prize!

Lin-Manuel Miranda not only produced this masterpiece, but he also took on the role of Alexander Hamilton for the shows first run.

The main cast of the show, despite taking on the roles of white historical figures, is composed of minority actors. "This is a story about America then, told by America now," says Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
