After performances in the world’s most well-known venues as well as Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be playing for a limited season this January in Richard Rodgers Theatre of New York, an especially renowned venue acclaimed for its favorite amenities fit to host top-of-the-line plays and shows.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, conceptualized and composed by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, based off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It tells the historical times of Hamilton himself in a ‘hipper’ manner, remaining devoted to the facts behind his life but with artistic flair and musical choices that makes Hamilton extremely entertaining. Hamilton really began off Broadway in the late summer of 2015 and was rapidly met with smashing reviews from its premier. Among a variety of press articles and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as the Musical’s premiere with its smashing cast including the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, wowed audiences in its debut with a vibrant performance. The show went on over the next 10 years to collect eleven Tony Awards from 16 nominations, plus Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Since it began in 2015, the production has since traveled to perform in dozens of theaters around the globe, where it has been met with continuously raving reviews. BroadwayWorld calls Hamilton “the hottest ticket in town”, as it appeals to a broad range in audience because of being accessible to both the more mature audiences who were interested in the history behind Hamilton, and the newer audiences that came for the new and creative concept behind this show. Over in London’s West End, TimeOut had concerns over Hamilton being overly hyped up, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Even just recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes the production as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.

Magazine critics and audiences alike agree that Hamilton is a must-attend this winter as it picks up its tour all over the world.
