Hamilton at Richard Rodgers Theatre

Debuting in 2015 and running for almost 10 years now, Hamilton took Broadway by storm with its innovative approach. From Ron Chernow’s biographical book about Alexander Hamilton, we learn the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s humble beginnings and journey to power as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. This is a profound story that is both historical and political, Hamilton is still to this day hailed as fearless in its storytelling and has influenced politics, culture, and our youth.

Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda who is also known for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film, also writing the score and lyrics for his former Broadway play called "In the Heights", another Tony award-winning production. Miranda is also the creator of music and lyrics in popular musical movies such as Moana. This hit musical, featuring a diverse cast, is set to a score that mixes new genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B and more, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and exciting by showcasing these genres to Broadway. Showtunes such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the production since its Broadway debut. Lin-Manuel Miranda has said that his music inspiration for Hamilton came from top rap and hip hop artists of America, finding a way to marry the two different genres together in an unprecedented manner. The showtunes of Hamilton are praised hugely by New York critics alike, compared to other Broadway musicals produced today, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and engaging than others.

Hamilton has garnered a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved success all over the world as it continues its limited runs all over the world, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is coming to you this summer in Richard Rodgers Theatre, the premier theater for the arts in New York, where former musicals have proved to be successful. Tickets for the Sunday 25th August 2024 showing are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a limited time in Richard Rodgers Theatre during August.
